BRIEF BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Chuka Agunwa obtained his MBBS degree from the University of Nigeria in 2004, and certificate in biostatistics from the Harvard School of Public Health in 2012. He is a Fellow of the West African College of Physicians and member, National Post graduate Medical College of Nigeria. Prior to his appointment was a Consultant Community Health Physician at Madonna University Teaching Hospital, Elele, Rivers State, where he held the position
of the Head, Department of Community Medicine and Primary Health Care. With primary research interests in Epidemiology, Biostatistics and Behavioural Change Communication he has worked at various levels of the health system providing consultancy services to the World Health Organization, UNICEF
and DFID, especially within the south east region over the past 5 years. He is a recipient of the Oyediran award for the best candidate in the part 1 examination of the Faculty of Community Health, West African College of Physicians and is co-author of several publications. He is also a national trainer in the Federal Ministry of Health Integrated Management of Childhood Illnesses (IMCI) program. He is an active member of several organizations such as the Association of Public Health Physicians of Nigeria and the Christian Medical and Dental Association. He is happily married to his best friend, Nneka and they are blessed with four lovely children.
