Olanike Agwu-Umahi graduated with the MBBch degree from the University of Calabar, Nigeria in 1998. She also obtained a Master of Science with distinction in Global Health from the University of Chester, United Kingdom in 2015 in addition to the Master of Public Health (MPH) degree from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, in 2009. She is a Fellow of the West African College of Physicians (Community Health) and a Lecturer in the Environmental and Occupational Health Unit of the Department of Community Medicine, University of Nigeria. Her areas of interest include Global Health Research, Environmental and Occupational Health. She currently teaches and mentors undergraduate Medical Students at the Community Medicine Department, University of Nigeria, and also mentors Postgraduate students and residents in Occupational Medicine. She has served as a Consultant and pioneer of Occupational Health at the Federal College of Dental Technology and Therapy, Enugu for 5 years. She has carried out extensive research in Occupational and Environmental Health with the Occupational Health Research Group at the University of Nigeria. She is currently the Postgraduate Coordinator at the Institute of Public Health, University of Nigeria.
